Wine Advocate 90 Points: Tangy and fresh, with a pleasing salinity framing lemon and apple flavors, this nimble white has a generous middle with a leesiness that creeps into the finish like a fog.
2017 Azienda Agricola COS Frappato
Azienda Agricola COS is a Biodynamically farmed estate located in the Vittoria region of southeastern Sicily. The estate is run by childhood friends Giambattista Cilia and Giusto Occhipinti, uncle of the famed winegrower Arriana Occhipinti.
Frappato is a rare and exclusive grape variety cultivated on only a few hectares, it is best expressed in the red sands of Vittoria, not far from the sea. An aromatic and pleasant red wine as few others, a perfect synthesis between tradition and innovation.
Wine Enthusiast 91 Points: Heady aromas of ripe strawberry, red cherry, clove and white pepper follow over to the vibrant palate alongside supple, polished tannins. Bright acidity lends balance and gives it a crisp, juicy finish.
